A Madhubani hand-painted dupatta is a beautiful blend of tradition and storytelling. This art form comes from the Mithila region of Bihar and traces its origin to the time of the Ramayana, when King Janak asked artists to decorate the city for Sita’s wedding. Since then, women have painted these stories on walls and fabrics.
This tradition has been brought live, by the award winning artist of the region, from Shikha’s Kariigarii, showcasing the colorful designs of flowers, peacocks, and gods, where each stroke is full of meaning
